Micron count: 36-40

 Staple length: 3.5 - 4".

Lincoln Longwools are native sheep of Lincolnshire, England. Robert Bakewell, a famous livestock breeder in the 1700s, used the Lincoln with other native stock to create his “new” Leicester sheep. Later, Lincolnshire sheepmen used “new” Leicester rams on “old” coarse-wool Lincoln ewes to begin development of the “improved” Lincoln; the breed we know today.

The long staple length creates a more natural texture for woolies, mimicking human hair. If you prefer kinky, wavy, natural looking locs, Lincoln is a great choice!

Wool Features

Luster: Lustrous, with a wavy appearance and natural shimmer. It takes dyes well and glows with color.

Drape: Drapes well, it is not stiff or spongy. It is also resistant to wear, so your woolies will be more easily handle being touched, fiddled with, or washed.
